Transforming the aerospace industry with affordable electromagnetically-powered single stage to orbit flight systems
Escape Dynamics is an advanced technology company leading the transition from inherently limited chemical rockets to the next generation electromagnetically-powered propulsion systems, which will allow aircraft-like, routine, on-demand, and affordable access to space. The company is developing a reusable single stage to orbit launch vehicle and is innovating in core technologies required for next generation propulsion systems such as wireless energy transfer, high power microwaves, next generation propulsion and materials. The company was founded by a team of expansive thinkers with Dr. Dmitriy Tseliakhovich, CEO/CTO of Escape Dynamics, leading the way. Laetitia Garriott de Cayeux, President and COO of Escape Dynamics, joined the founding team in 2014 to drive the next phase of the company’s growth and help bringing game-changing technologies developed at Escape Dynamics to a wide range of customers.

Our initial focus is on the 1-200kg payload category. The game-changing efficiency of our externally-powered propulsion system enables the use of light-weight, reusable single stage to orbit vehicle designed to address rapidly growing needs of an emerging small satellite market and offers capability not present in the market today – rapid on-demand launch at an affordable price. Initial focus on small satellites will allow us to build a manageable ground-based infrastructure and test key aspects of the new engine technology. The ground infrastructure can be scaled over time and future vehicles will be able to carry larger payloads.

Working with the visionaries innovators
In pursuing our mission, we are working with extraordinary companies, research institutions, and innovators. The company is proud to be working with Autodesk on applications of Autodesk’s cutting edge design and simulation tools in our launch system development and on the use of cloud-based design and simulation tools in creating new technologies and systems for sustainable flight. Through our participation in the Singularity University’s SU Companies Program we are coming up with new ways to bring exponential technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence and nano-technology into the aerospace industry with the goal to bring radical change into the aerospace industry.

Our work is supported by visionary founding investor and the Chairman of the Board Richard F. Schaden and an extraordinary Advisory Board which includes Professor Harry Atwater, the world’s leading materials and renewable energy expert from Caltech, Dr. Peter Diamandis, Chairman and CEO of the X PRIZE foundation, Gonzalo Martinez, Director of Advanced Technology office at Autodesk, and Ingvar Petursson, SVP of Technology and Finance at Nintendo of America.
